PINPOINT TEST M: THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR IS INOPERATIVE (CHIME IS OPERATIVE)/DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY

Test M1-M3:

Test M4:

Normal Operation
The normally open front door ajar switches are directly hardwired to the front electronic module (FEM) and the normally open rear door ajar switches are hardwired to the rear electronic module (REM). When any door is open, the door ajar switch provides a ground signal to the FEM or REM. When the door is closed, the door ajar switch opens, removing the ground signal to the FEM or REM. The FEM and REM uses the multiple inputs from the door ajar switches to determine whether the doors are in the opened or closed position and provides a signal to the instrument cluster over the standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication network, circuits 4-EG8 (GY/VT) and 5-EG8 (BU/WH). A door ajar chime that is operating correctly indicates that the FEM is monitoring the correct operation of the door ajar switches.

Possible Causes
- FEM
- REM
- instrument cluster
