Pinpoint Tests G: Shift Interlock System Does Not Release/Lock Correctly

Normal Operation

The shift Tever will not come out of PARK unless the key is in the ON position and the brake pedal is depressed.

Possible Causes

If the range selector Tever does not release or lock, the cause may be:

^ Faulty brake pedal position (BPP) switch
^ Blown fuse
^ Short to ground
^ Short to open
^ Faulty shift lock actuator
^ Wiring, terminals or connectors
