Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Disconnect the battery.
3. Remove the bolts and the lower fan shroud.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).







4. NOTE: The large clutch assembly nut has a right-hand thread and must be rotated counterclockwise to remove it.

Remove the cooling fan clutch.
- Using the special tools, remove the fan and clutch as an assembly.
- To install, use the special tools to tighten the fan and clutch as an assembly to 55 Nm (40 lb-ft).

5. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and position the accessory drive belt aside.
6. Remove the 2 generator bracket bolts.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

7. Remove the 2 generator bracket nuts.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

8. Release the 2 wiring harness locators from the generator bracket.
9. Remove the generator B+ nut.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

10. Disconnect the 2 generator electrical connectors.
11. Remove the generator bracket.
12. Remove the 2 generator bolts.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

13. NOTE: The generator must be removed from underneath the vehicle.

Remove the generator.

14. If necessary, remove the nut and the generator pulley.
- To install, tighten to 109 Nm (80 lb-ft).

15. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
