Normal Operation
Under normal operation, the blower motor relay coil receives a ground from the DATC module through circuit 31S-FA23 (BK/BU). The coil receives voltage through circuit 30-FA24 (RD/OG). Voltage is supplied to the relay contacts from circuit 30-FA24 (RD/OG). When the relay coil is energized, voltage is delivered to the blower motor through circuit 30S-FA18 (RD/BK). Ground for the motor is provided through circuit 31S-FA18 (BK/RD) from the blower control module. Ground for the blower control module is provided by circuit 31-FA45 (BK). The DATC module sends a 0-volt (LO) to 5-volt (HI) signal to the blower control module through circuit 8-FA45 (WH/BU) to control the blower speed.
Possible Causes
- An open in circuit 31-FA45 (BK), 31S-FA18 (BK/RD), 30S-FA18 (RD/BK), 30-FA24 (RD/OG) or 31S-FA23 (BK/BU).
- A short to ground in circuit 8-FA45 (WH/BU).
- A short to voltage in circuit 31S-FA23 (BK/BU).
- A/C blower relay.
- Blower motor control module.
- DATC module.
