Test C: Incorrect Temperature Gauge Indication

PINPOINT TEST C: INCORRECT TEMPERATURE GAUGE INDICATION

C1-C4:

Normal Operation
The normal engine operating temperature is 60°C (140°F) to 120°C (248°F). Redline starts at 121°C (249.8°F). The cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor monitors the coolant temperature at the cylinder head and is hardwired directly to the powertrain control module (PCM). The status of the engine coolant temperature is sent from the PCM to the instrument cluster over the communication network. The instrument cluster DTC U1073 is logged if the instrument cluster fails to receive the engine temperature status from the PCM.

Possible Causes
- PCM
- instrument cluster
