Normal Operation
Remote locking and unlocking of the doors is accomplished by the driver door module (DDM) receiving a command message from the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter. The DDM processes the command and sends a signal directly to the driver door latch. The DDM sends a message through the standard corporate protocol (SCP) network to the rear electronic module (REM), which activates the passenger door latches. The RKE transmitter has a minimum acceptable operating range of 10 m (33 feet).

All RKE transmitters must be present to begin diagnosis of the RKE system.

Aftermarket or dealer-installed system may adversely affect the RKE system operation. These systems should be disconnected before diagnosing any RKE concerns.

Possible Causes
- aftermarket system
- high power devices
- TV/radio transmission towers
- RKE transmitter
- DDM
