RETRACTABLE RUNNING BOARD IDLER ARM







Removal and Installation

Idler arm assembly only







1. Measure the distance between the top of the idler arm housing and the body and record the measurement.

Idler arm and drive arm assembly
2. Remove the retractable running board.







3. NOTE: Idler arm shown, drive arm similar.

Remove the 4 retractable running board bracket bolts and position the bracket aside.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).







4. Remove the 3 outer pivot cover bolts and the outer pivot cover.
- To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).







5. Remove the outer pivot shaft seal.







6. Remove the track guide bolt.
- To install, tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).







7. Remove the pivot arm clip and washer.

Idler arm assembly only
8. Remove the idler arm assembly.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Set the height of the idler arm to match the measurement that was recorded in Step 1.
- Apply grease to the pivot shaft and inside surface of the outer pivot shaft seal.

Drive arm assembly only
10. Remove the drive arm assembly.
11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Apply grease to the pivot shaft and inside surface of the outer pivot shaft seal.
