Normal Operation
The third row power-fold seat relay coil side is supplied battery voltage on circuit 729 (RD/WH) (left) and 2116 (YE) (right) and are hot at all times. The ground is supplied to each third row power-fold seat relay on the coil side through circuit 1951 (TN) and controlled by the vehicle security module (VSM). When the left or right third row power-fold seat switch is pressed, voltage is supplied through the switch side of the third row power-fold seat relay on circuit 2115 (OG) (left) and 2116 (YE) (right) and supplied ground on circuit 57 (BK). When pressing the left or right third row power-fold seat switch in the opposite direction, the left or right third row power-fold seat switch reverses the polarity to the left or right third row power-fold seat motor, which moves the third row seat backrest in the opposite direction.
Possible Causes
An inoperative third row power-fold seat can be caused by:
- fuse(s).
- wiring, terminals or connectors.
- a faulty right third row power-fold seat switch.
- a faulty right third row power-fold seat relay.
- a faulty right third row power-fold seat motor.
- a faulty VSM.
