Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

Exploded View

Removal and Installation
1. Remove the air cleaner intake pipe.
2. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) electrical connector.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the air cleaner.







4. Detach the wiring harness retainer from the air cleaner stud bolts.







5. Disconnect the heater coolant control valve from the air cleaner stud and position aside.







6. Detach the vacuum hose from the retainer.
7. Disconnect the crankcase vent tube quick connect coupling from the air cleaner housing.







8. If equipped with an air cleaner insulator, disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector and remove the air cleaner insulator.
9. Remove the 4 fasteners and the air cleaner housing.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

10. If servicing the air cleaner housing, remove the 2 bolts and the MAF sensor.
- To install, tighten to 2 Nm (19 lb-in).

11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
