Principles of Operation
PRINCIPLES OF OPERATIONThe daytime running lamps (DRL) are implemented by using the fog lamps at 100% system voltage. When the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the DRL ignition relay is energized. This allows voltage to the DRL headlamp relay. When the DRL headlamp relay is not energized, voltage is allowed to flow to the fog lamps. If the headlamp switch or the autolamp system provides voltage to the headlamps, the DRL relay is energized and the voltage to the fog lamps is interrupted.
