THX AUDIO AMPLIFIER REPLACEMENT
IDENTIFICATION

LINCOLN:
2007 Navigator

ISSUE
The 2007 Navigator is equipped with one of two different levels of THX audio amplifiers. When replacing the amplifier, you must first identify the level of subwoofer in the vehicle. This can be done based on the number of circuits located in the subwoofer connector or by part number.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to identify the level of subwoofer in the vehicle.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Pop out the cup holder located in the left rear quarter trim panel. With the cup holder removed visually inspect the subwoofer wire connector for having two (2) or four (4) circuits.

2. If you find the subwoofer connector has two (2) circuits, then replace the amplifier with the two (2) Circuit Amplifier. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 415-00.

3. If you find the subwoofer connector has four (4) circuits, then replace the amplifier with the four (4) Circuit Amplifier. Refer to WSM, Section 415-00.

NOTE
FAILURE TO IDENTIFY THE APPROPRIATE AMPLIFIER SERVICE PART WILL DAMAGE THE NEW SERVICE PART OR CAUSE LOSS OF SOUND QUALITY/PERFORMANCE. ALWAYS IDENTIFY THE SUBWOOFER/AMP COMBINATION BEFORE POWERING UP.
