SMART WINDOW - STOPS PART WAY
LINCOLN:
2007 Navigator
ISSUE
Some 2007 Navigator vehicles may experience a concern with the smart window operation where it may stop and may lower by 9 27/32" (25 cm) in the event the motor senses a restriction or resistance during closure. The window motor may not need to be replaced but must be re-initialized.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
Re-initialize Smart Window Motor
NOTE
IF THE WINDOW MOTOR IS COMPLETELY INOPERATIVE UP/DOWN OR RE-INITIALIZATION FAILS TO CORRECT THE CONCERN, CONTINUE WITH NORMAL WORKSHOP MANUAL DIAGNOSIS.
1. Open one front door.
2. Cycle the ignition key on and off 5 times; leaving it in the on position upon the 5th key cycle.
3. Press window switch in the down direction and release. (Steps 1-3 must be completed with in 8 seconds).
4. Run the glass to the full down position and hold the switch in the down position for an additional 2 second minimum after the window has stopped.
5. Run the glass to the full up position with no interruptions and hold the switch in the up position for an additional 2 second minimum after the window has stopped.
6. Do not touch any control for a minimum of 3 seconds.
7. Power windows should be re-initialized. To verify proper window function activate express down and express up option.
