Test N: LFC 15/DTC C1414 - Incorrect Module Design Level

PINPOINT TEST N: LFC 15/DTC C1414 - INCORRECT MODULE DESIGN LEVEL

NOTE: When a new PCM is installed, the air bag warning indicator will illuminate when the ignition switch is ON. The warning indicator will remain on until PCM configuration is restored.

Normal Operation
The restraints control module (RCM) monitors the communication from the PCM for an embedded vehicle ID. If the RCM detects an unexpected condition or incorrect data from the PCM, it will store DTC C1414 in memory and send a message to the instrument cluster module to illuminate the air bag warning indicator.

- DTC C1414 Incorrect Module Design Level - If the RCM detects software and hardwired VID combination that does not match at start-up, it will set this DTC.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Incorrect or non configured PCM for vehicle
- Incorrect RCM for vehicle
