Pinpoint Test T: DTC U0459:68
Normal Operation
The Head Up Display (HUD) module is designed with a temperature sensor internal to the module. Due to extremely hot weather conditions, the temperature sensor circuit is designed to allow the HUD module to disable under high temperature conditions, which could damage the HUD module LEDs. The HUD module is designed with a LED prove-out test. Upon each ignition cycle when the ignition switch is in RUN, the LEDs illuminate for a period of time indicating the HUD module is functional.
- DTC U0459:68 (Invalid Data Received From Head Up Display: Event Information) - sets as a continuous memory and on-demand DTC in the Cruise-Control Module (C-CM) if the HUD module is over-temperature.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- HUD module
- C-CM
PINPOINT TEST T: DTC U0459:68
-------------------------------------------------
T1 CHECK FOR HUD MODULE LED PROVE-OUT TEST
NOTE: Make sure to remove the vehicle from the extreme heat source or sunload condition prior to testing the vehicle.
- Ignition ON.
- While placing the ignition switch in RUN, observe the HUD module LEDs
- Do the HUD module LEDs illuminate?
Yes
The HUD module LEDs are operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by extreme temperatures. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
GO to T2.
-------------------------------------------------
T2 CHECK THE DTCs FROM THE CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND HUD MODULE AND C-CM SELF-TESTS
- Check the HUD module and C-CM DTCs from the continuous and on-demand self-tests.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes
For C-CM DTCs, REFER to DTC Charts. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart
For HUD module DTCs, REFER to Fire Suppression System.
No
INSTALL a new HUD module. REFER to Fire Suppression System. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
