Removal and Installation

All RH sensors

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.

RH 3.5L Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection (GTDI) sensor

2. Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
- Detach the HO2S electrical connector retainer from the bracket.





LH 3.5L GTDI sensor

3. Remove the 4 retainers and the underbody shield.





4. Disconnect the LH HO2S electrical connector.
- Detach the HO2S connector retainer from the bracket.





All sensors except GTDI

5. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

6. NOTE: If necessary, lubricate the sensor threads with penetrating and lock lubricant to assist in removal.

Using the Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor Socket, remove the HO2S.

- Calculate the correct torque wrench setting for the following torque. Refer to the Torque Wrench Adapter Formulas in the Appendix.

- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).





7. NOTE: Apply a light coat of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the HO2S.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
