Quarter Trim Panel

Removal and Installation

1. If installed, remove the luggage cover assembly.

2. Position aside the liftgate weatherstrip.

3. Remove the liftgate scuff plate pin-type retainers.





4. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the liftgate scuff plate trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the liftgate scuff plate trim panel before installing.

Remove the liftgate scuff plate.

- Pull upward to release the retaining clips.





5. Position the second row seats in the flat position and then tilt the second row seats forward.

6. Remove the C-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to C-Pillar Trim Panel C-Pillar Trim Panel.

7. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the scuff plate trim panel, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the scuff plate trim panel before installing.

NOTICE: To avoid damage to the scuff plate trim panel, remove the S-clips from the scuff plate trim panel and attach them to the door flange in the body sheet metal notches.

Remove the rear door scuff plate trim panel.

- Using a flat trim tool, lift upward on the scuff plate trim panel to release the retaining clips.





8. Remove the quarter trim panel retaining screw.





9. Remove the D-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to D-Pillar Trim Panel D-Pillar Trim Panel.

10. Position the third row seats in the flat position.

11. Remove the cargo net retaining hooks.





12. Remove the power liftgate rod retaining nut cover.





13. Remove the power liftgate rod retaining nut.
- To install, tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).





14. Remove the power liftgate rod from the liftgate.

15. Position the liftgate rod to the full down position.

16. NOTICE: The power liftgate rod cover is part of the lower quarter trim panel and must be removed with the trim panel. Failure to follow these instructions will result in damage to the trim panel.

Remove the lower quarter trim panel.

- Using a trim tool, separate the lower trim panel retaining clips from the quarter trim panel.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.

- Maneuver the safety belt through the lower quarter trim panel slot.

- Maneuver the lower quarter trim panel up and over the power liftgate rod.





17. Remove the quarter trim panel.
- Pull the quarter trim panel toward the inside of the vehicle to release the retaining clips.

- Disconnect the electrical connectors.

- Disconnect the auxiliary in-vehicle temperature sensor electrical connector and aspirator tube block.

- Maneuver the safety belt through the quarter trim panel slot.

- Maneuver the quarter trim panel over the third row seat and around the power liftgate rod.

18. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the quarter trim panels, remove any retaining clips from the body and attach them to the quarter trim panels before installing.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
