Seat Backrest Heater Mat - Second Row, 40 Percent

Removal

NOTICE: The heater mat is not designed to be separated from the foam pad. Doing so will damage the foam pad. Install a new foam pad and heater mat. Failure to follow this instruction can result in seat component damage and system failure.

NOTE: For parts identification and location, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Second Row Seat - Exploded View, Second Row.

1. Remove the backrest cover. For additional information, refer to Seat Backrest Cover - Second Row, 40 Percent, Bench Seat Backrest Cover - Second Row, 40 Percent, Bench.

2. Release the retainers and remove the outer pivot cover on the inboard side of the seat.
- Slide a thin screwdriver to the front side of the inner cover lip and work down releasing the tabs.





3. Disconnect the heater mat electrical connector.





4. Remove the backrest foam pad from the backrest frame.
- Discard the backrest foam pad with heater mat.

Installation

1. Install a new backrest heater mat onto a new backrest foam pad.

1. Route the backrest heater mat wire harness and electrical connector through the backrest foam pad to the other side.

2. Position the backrest heater mat onto the backrest foam pad so the opening aligns to the wire in the backrest foam pad.
- Tuck the backrest heater mat into the backrest foam pad trench.

3. Make sure the backrest heater mat stays in place, remove the paper strips from under the backrest heater mat and adhere to the backrest foam pad, laying it flat with no wrinkles.

4. Position the wire harness in the foam pad notch.





2. Install the backrest foam pad onto the backrest frame.

3. Connect the backrest heater mat electrical connector.

4. Tuck the heater mat wire harness between the inboard pivot cover and pivot.

5. Install the outer pivot cover.
