Seat Backrest Cover - Second Row, 60 Percent
Removal and Installation
NOTE: For parts identification and location, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Second Row Seat - Exploded View, Second Row.
1. With the 60 percent seat in the E-Z entry position, release the 2 sets of cushion trim cover J-clips from under the seat.
2. From under the seat, release the hook-and-loop strip and J-clip at the RH side of the cushion frame.
3. Pull the cushion cover outboard retainer out from between the cushion frame and riser.
- Remove the wire harness retainers (if equipped).
4. NOTE: To pivot the backrest, the inboard seat latching foot must be in the LATCHED position.
With the 60 percent seat positioned down, lift the cushion foam pad and cushion trim cover up. Remove the safety belt anchor and buckle bolt from the inboard recliner.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
5. Release the 2 backrest trim cover lower J-clips.
6. Release the backrest trim cover inside J-clips from the hard back panel.
7. Push the button in on the head restraint guide sleeves and remove the LH and RH head restraints.
8. Squeeze the opening together and remove the outer safety belt trim guide.
9. NOTICE: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip may be torn from the seat backrest foam.
Release the hook-and-loop strips and invert the backrest cover up and remove the 3 hog rings.
10. Release the hook-and-loop strips and invert the backrest trim cover to the top of the backrest.
11. NOTE: The LH and RH head restraint guides are not interchangeable.
Lift the backrest foam pad, squeeze the tabs in and remove the 4 head restraint guide sleeves.
12. Feed the safety belt through and remove the backrest trim cover.
13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Before installation, make sure the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.
- Verify the safety belt retractor operates without excessive effort or binding.
- Make sure the lower anchor and tether for children wires at the rear of the cushion frame are positioned through the cushion trim cover and are accessible to the occupants.
