Seat Backrest - Second Row, 60 Percent

Removal

NOTE: With the seat out of the vehicle and the backrest in the fold-flat position, the inboard latch foot must be in the LATCHED position to pivot the backrest back to the UPRIGHT position.

NOTE: When installing the backrest, the retaining bolts must be tightened in the sequence shown.

NOTE: For parts identification and location, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Second Row Seat - Exploded View, Second Row.

1. Remove the 60 percent seat from the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Seat - Second Row Seat - Second Row.

2. From under the seat, release the 2 sets of cushion trim cover J-clips.

3. From under the seat, release the hook-and-loop strip and J-clip at the RH side of the cushion frame.

4. Pull the cushion cover outboard retainer out from between the cushion frame and riser.
- Remove the wire harness retainers (if equipped).





5. If equipped, lift the cushion foam pad and disconnect the heater mat electrical connector.





6. Remove the cushion foam pad and cushion trim cover.

7. Remove the bolt and separate the safety belt buckle and safety belt anchor assembly from the RH recliner.

8. Release the 2 backrest trim cover lower J-clips.

9. Release the backrest trim cover inside J-clips from the hard back panel.

10. Roll the trim cover up and remove the 2 LH recliner-to-backrest frame bolts.

11. If equipped, lift the backrest foam pad, disconnect the backrest heater mat electrical connector and detach the wire harness from the backrest frame.





12. Pull and remove the outboard pivot cover.

13. Remove the pivot bolt.

14. Lift the backrest foam pad and trim cover. Remove the 2 RH recliner-to-backrest frame bolts.





15. Remove the backrest.

Installation

1. Position the backrest frame and hand start all bolts.

2. Install the backrest frame bolts in the following sequence.

1. Install the LH lower recliner-to-backrest frame bolt.
- Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).

2. Install the LH upper recliner-to-backrest frame bolt.
- Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).

3. Install the pivot bolt.
- Tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft).

4. Install the RH lower recliner-to-backrest frame bolt.
- Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).

5. Install the RH upper recliner-to-backrest frame bolt.
- Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).





3. Position and install the outboard pivot cover.

4. If equipped, lift the backrest foam pad, connect the backrest heater mat electrical connector and attach the wire harness to the backrest frame.

5. Reposition the backrest trim cover and attach the 5 backrest trim cover inside J-clips to the hard back panel.

6. Attach the 2 backrest trim cover lower J-clips.

7. Position the safety belt buckle and the safety belt anchor assembly to the RH recliner and install the bolt.
- Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

8. Reposition the cushion foam pad and cushion trim cover to the cushion frame.
- Connect the cushion heater mat electrical connector (if equipped).

9. Insert the cushion cover outboard retainer back between the riser and the cushion frame.
- Attach the wire harness retainers (if equipped).

10. From under the seat, attach the cushion trim cover J-clip at the RH side of the cushion frame and the hook-and-loop strip.

11. From under the seat, attach 2 sets of cushion trim cover J-clips.
- Make sure the lower anchor and tether for children wires at the rear of the cushion frame are positioned through the cushion trim cover and accessible for use after assembly.

12. Install the 60 percent seat into the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Seat - Second Row Seat - Second Row.
