Pinpoint Test AI: The Smart Unlock Does Not Operate Correctly
Normal Operation
The Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module commands all doors to unlock to prevent an Intelligent Access (IA) key from being inadvertently locked inside the vehicle. When the vehicle is locked using either door lock control switch with the door ajar and then closed, the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module searches the interior of the vehicle for an IA (Intelligent Access) key. The RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module searches the interior of the vehicle by activating all 3 low frequency antennas. If an IA (Intelligent Access) key is inside the vehicle, the signal from the low frequency antennas activate the IA (Intelligent Access) key, and sends a signal back to the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module through the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) module. If the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) module detects that there is an IA (Intelligent Access) key inside the vehicle, it unlocks all of the doors and honks the horn.
The vehicle can still be locked with an IA (Intelligent Access) key in the vehicle by using a key in the door lock cylinder, keyless entry keypad, or the lock button on another IA (Intelligent Access) key.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Door ajar switch input
- IA (Intelligent Access) key
- Passive start antennas
PINPOINT TEST AI : THE SMART UNLOCK DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
AI1 CHECK THE COURTESY LAMP OPERATION
- Open and close each door while checking the courtesy lamp operation.
Do the courtesy lamps operate correctly?
Yes
REFER to the symptom chart in Antitheft and Alarm Systems to diagnose the passive start antennas and IA (Intelligent Access) key With Intelligent Access (IA).
No
REFER to Lighting and Horns.
