Pinpoint Test BA: DTCs B1113 and B111B
Normal Operation
The Passenger Climate Controlled Seat Module - 2 (PCSM-2) monitors the RH rear seat Thermo-Electric Device (TED) circuits. If a short to ground or voltage on any of these circuits is detected, the DTC(s) will be set.
- DTC B1113 (Passenger Thermo-Electric Device Control Overtemperature Fault)- If the PCSM-2 (Passenger Climate Controlled Seat Module - 2) TED (Thermo-Electric Device) driver integrated circuit temperature exceeds 175°C (347°F), the PCSM-2 (Passenger Climate Controlled Seat Module - 2) will shut down the RH rear seat system and set this DTC.
- DTC B111B (Passenger Thermo-Electric Driver Overcurrent Low)- If PCSM-2 (Passenger Climate Controlled Seat Module - 2) outputs to the RH rear seat backrest or cushion TED (Thermo-Electric Device) (circuit pins A, B, C or D at the PCSM-2 (Passenger Climate Controlled Seat Module - 2) connector) or any components within these circuit loops are shorted to ground or a TED (Thermo-Electric Device) resistance of less than 0.9 ohms is sensed, the PCSM-2 (Passenger Climate Controlled Seat Module - 2) will shut down the RH rear seat system and set this DTC.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- TED (Thermo-Electric Device) assembly
- PCSM-2 (Passenger Climate Controlled Seat Module - 2)
PINPOINT TEST BA : DTCs B1113 AND B111B
NOTICE: When taking measurements at Passenger Climate Controlled Seat Module - 2 (PCSM-2) harness connectors, do not insert the electrical probes into the female connector pins. Inserting the probes into connector pins can cause intermittent or open electrical connections after reassembly resulting in Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and system failure. Touching the tip of these connector pins is recommended instead.
