ISSUE
Some 2013 Edge, Flex, Taurus, MKX, MKS, MKT and Explorer vehicles equipped with a 6F50 or 6F55 transmission and built on or before 9/22/2012 may exhibit a concern of an intermittent no upshift or a perceived stuck in first gear with no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This condition may exist if the vehicle was not fully stopped in reverse before shifting to drive. A new calibration is available.

ACTION
Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) release 81.03 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2012.9 DVD Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.

WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
