DESCRIPTION
A newly established oil filter with a check valve has been installed on 626 and B2000 vehicles since the production of February, 1985. The check valve is installed to prevent the engine oil in the oil passages of the engine block from flowing back to the oil pan after stopping the engine. The new oil filter can be installed on 1983-1986 626 and 1986 B2000 vehicles.
DO NOT use this oil filter on 1986 323 vehicles because the oil passage will be blocked by the check valve, resulting in serious engine damage.
OIL FILTER CARTRIDGE:
The oil filter with a check valve has a different part number and configuration than the oil filter for the 1986 323 and can be distinguished by a check valve located approximately 1 inch from the sealing surface.
