Clutch Switch: Testing and Inspection

NEUTRAL SWITCH

Neutral Switch Testing:

1. Disconnect the neutral switch connector.
2. Check switch continuity with an ohmmeter. With transmission in neutral, there should be continuity between switch terminals. With transmission in gear, there should be no continuity between switch terminals.
3. Reconnect neutral switch connector after testing or replacement.

CLUTCH SWITCH

Clutch Switch Testing:

1. Disconnect clutch switch connector.
2. Check switch continuity with an ohmmeter. With clutch pedal depressed, there should be continuity between switch terminals. With clutch pedal released, there should be no continuity between switch terminals.
3. Reconnect clutch switch connector after testing or replacement.

Neutral and clutch switch input signal can be checked at ECU terminal 1V with ignition "ON." With transmission in neutral or clutch pedal depressed, terminal voltage should be below 0.5V. With transmission in forward gear or clutch pedal released, voltage should be approximately 12V.
