DESCRIPTION

The map box door button sticks and prevents latching the map box door in a closed position. To correct this problem, the map box button's length was increased by 2 mm to provide secure latching.

REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

1. Depress the map box button to open the box. Lift the door up and out of the slots in which it rests and allow it to hang straight down by the cloth hinges.

Note:
You do not need to completely remove the map box door to perform this operation.

2. Swing the door upward and remove the 11 screws from the inside of the door. Remove the door cover to expose the button's locking mechanism. Set the cover aside

3. Allow the door to hang downward. Be sure to hold the locking mechanism in place so it doesn't fall out of the door's back half.

4. Remove the button from the locking mechanism and replace it with a modified one.

5. If necessary, install button levers and latches (with springs) inside the door's back half. Reinstall the door cover. Press the button to ensure the locking mechanism works properly.

6. Insert the map box door into the dash board slots and close it.
