DESCRIPTION
After 1 to 4 hours of heat soak, some vehicles may experience hard start and/or engine stall. No further stalling or rough idle will occur after the engine is running. The condition may be first noticed during warmer temperatures but may continue erratically regardless of temperature.

The cause of the condition may be the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve not opening at high temperature. Customers complaining of this concern should have the vehicle inspected and if necessary, repaired according to this bulletin.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify the concern.

2. Record any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
^ If DTCs are present, repair according to the workshop manual and return to step 1.
^ If there are no DTCs and the concern is still present, replace the IAC valve. Refer to section F of the workshop manual for removal and installation procedure.

3. Verify repair.
