Lower

Lower Arm Removal - 4x2
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove the brake disc shield.





4. Remove the upper shock absorber nut/washer assembly and bushing.





5. Remove the front shock absorber.
1. Remove the two nuts.
2. Remove the front shock absorber.





6. Remove the front stabilizer bar link nut.





7. Use a coil spring compressor or equivalent to compress the coil spring.





8. Remove the lower ball joint castellated nut.
1. Remove the cotter pin.
2. Remove the castellated nut.





9. Use the ST 211-003 to separate the lower ball joint from the front wheel spindle.





10. Remove the front suspension lower arm and front coil spring in the order shown.
1. Remove the two front suspension lower arm bolts.
2. Remove the two front suspension lower arm nuts.
3. Remove the front suspension lower arm and front coil spring.

Lower Arm Installation - 4x2

Note: The end of the coil spring must cover the first hole and should not be visible in the second hole.





1. Install the front coil spring into the front suspension lower arm.

Note: The forward front suspension lower arm nut must be tightened first while the control arm is held at the curb position ride height.

2. Install the front suspension lower arm and front coil spring.
1. Position the front suspension lower arm and front coil spring.
2. Install the two front suspension lower arm bolts and nuts.





1. On the RH front suspension lower arm, install the rear bolt adjustment cam, and nut in the center of the frame slot.

Caution: Always install the cotter pin into the lower ball joint castellated nut from outboard to inboard, with the fingers bent together at a right angle. Failure to do so will result in damage to the wheel and tire assembly.





3. Install the lower ball joint.
1. Position the front wheel spindle to the lower ball joint.
2. Install the lower ball joint castellated nut.
3. Install a new cotter pin.





4. Install the front stabilizer bar link nut.
5. Remove the coil spring compressor or equivalent tool.





6. Install the front shock absorber and the two lower nuts.





7. Install the upper shock absorber bushing and nut/washer assembly.
8. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
9. Inspect and adjust the front end alignment.
