Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair

Fig. 8 Typical fan motor replacement. 1984-85 GLC, 1984-88 626 & 1988 MX-6:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system, then disconnect electrical connector from water temperature switch.
3. Disconnect fan motor electrical connector.
4. Disconnect upper and lower radiator hoses, then remove fan motor attaching bolts and the motor assembly, Fig. 8.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
