This system is designed to minimize carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) while providing an optimum air/fuel ratio under all operating conditions.

Various sensors transmit signals to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ECU then adjusts injector opening time according to engine operating conditions.
