Mixture Control Solenoid: Description and Operation
Air Fuel Solenoid:
The air/fuel solenoid can either restrict or increase the fuel flow through the primary main metering circuit, depending on the signal from the ECU. It also meters air into the primary slow circuit for idle mixture control. When the air horn is installed onto the carburetor, the air/fuel solenoid fits into a well in the carburetor body, sealed by an O-ring. The solenoid is manufactured as part of the air horn and cannot be replaced separately. If replacement is required, the air horn assembly must be replaced.
