EGR Valve: Testing and Inspection

1. Ensure EGR control valve rod slides smoothly by hand.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from EGR control valve and connect vacuum pump to valve.
3. Start engine and run at idle, then apply vacuum.
4. If engine does not run rough or stall with 1.6---2.4 inch Hg of vacuum applied, replace EGR control valve.
