DESCRIPTION

Remanufactured EGI control units for 1990 and 1991 year models have become available through the existing exchange program. The following Parts Information section shows the available remanufactured EGI control units for the following models: '86-'91 323/Protege, '86-'90 626/MX-6, '88-'91 929, '89-'91 MPV (except 2.6L), '90-'91 MX-5 and '84-'91 RX-7.

NOTE:

^ New EGI control units are no longer available as the remanufactured units supersede the new units.

^ See Parts Bulletin II/48E or E-9-89 for the core return procedure.

^ The removed bracket from the vehicle should be used when installing the remanufactured unit. Do NOT return the bracket with the removed control unit.

^ Return the removed control unit WITHIN 7 DAYS to insure continued availability of cores.

This bulletin supersedes the information contained in S/B Category F, no. 008/90.

WARRANTY INFORMATION

Remanufactured EGI control units installed by a Mazda dealer are warranted for the first 12 months, regardless of mileage, from the date of installation or the duration of the applicable emission warranties, whichever is longer coverage.
