1. Apply engine oil to rocker arm shafts and rocker arm bearing surface.
2. Assemble rocker arm and shaft assembly as shown, Fig. 40. The intake side shaft has twice as many oil holes as the exhaust side shaft.
3. Install rocker arm and shaft assembly.
4. Torque bolts in two or thee steps in sequence, Fig. 41, to 14-19 ft. lbs. Be careful that rocker arm shaft spring does not get caught between shaft and mounting boss during installation.
5. Install seal plates on cylinder head, torque to specification.
