Fuel Injection

1. Check engine condition (spark plugs, leaks in hoses, etc.).
2. Turn all electrical loads "OFF."
3. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.

Test Connector For Tachometer:

4. Connect tachometer (white check connector) and timing light.
5. Ground test connector (green: 1-pin) with a jumper wire.
6. Check that idle speed is within specification:

750 ± 20 rpm (M/T in neutral)
770 ± 20 rpm (A/T in "P")

Timing Mark:

7. Check that timing marks on crankshaft pulley and timing belt cover are aligned as specified:

5° ± 1° BTDC

8. If ignition timing is not within specification, loosen distributor lock bolt and rotate distributor housing to adjust.
9. Tighten distributor lock bolt to specified torque:

19 - 25 Nm (1.9 - 2.6 mkg, 14 - 19 ftlb)

10. After adjustment, disconnect jumper wire from test connector.
