Malfunction Indicator Lamp: Testing and Inspection
"CHECK ENGINE" LIGHTIf the "CHECK ENGINE" light remains "ON" after the vehicle has started, refer to EEC QUICK TEST under ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS in this section and service any codes.
If pass codes are present, the "CHECK ENGINE" light is always "ON" and the vehicle has no symptoms, go to Quick Test Step 9.0.
If the "CHECK ENGINE" light never comes "ON," go to Quick Test Step 9.0.
If the vehicle is a no start, go to Pinpoint Test Step AA1 under DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS.
NOTE: When in Self-Test, the "CHECK ENGINE" light is not limited to Continuous Memory Codes and will also flash Service Codes. Refer to ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS.
