Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Detects changes in barometric pressure corresponding to changes in altitude from sea level and sends signal to ECU.

LOCATION
Integral component of ECU.

OPERATION
These changes are converted to an electrical signal and used by the ECU primarily in its calculations of fuel injection quantity, idle speed, purge control and A/C cut-off.
