Air Conditioning Switch: Testing and Inspection

Logic Control Type Switch

A/C Switch Test:






1. Turn the A/C switch off.
2. Connect a jumper wire between terminal C and terminal L.

A/C Switch Terminal Check 1:




Terminal Voltage Test Chart 1:






3. Connect a resistor (at least 1kOhms) between each terminal and check the voltage between terminals. If it does not meet spec. replace.
4. Turn the A/C switch on.

5. Connect a resistor (at least 1kOhms) between each terminal and check the voltage between terminals. If it does not meet spec. replace.
6. Turn the A/C switch on and the ECO switch off.

7. Connect a resistor between (at least 1 kOhms) between each terminal and check voltage between terminals. If it does not meet spec. replace.
8. Turn the A/C switch on and the ECO switch on.

9. Connect a resistor (at least 1 kOhms) between each terminal and check voltage between terminals. If it does not meet spec. replace.

Conventional Wire Type Control Switch


1. Pull control switch panel from dash.
2. Using ohmmeter, check for continuity.

A/C Switch Test:

3. If it fails in any position, replace switch.
