Throttle Full Close Switch: Testing and Inspection

Idle Switch Testing:

1. Disconnect idle switch connector.
2. Check continuity between switch and ground. There should be continuity with throttle valve fully closed and no continuity with throttle open.
3. If not as specified, check condition of idle switch wiring harness. If idle switch is determined defective, replace idle switch and throttle body as a unit.



Idle switch input signal can be checked at ECU terminal 1T with ignition "ON." With accelerator pedal released, terminal voltage should be below 0.5V. With pedal depressed, voltage should be above 7.7V.
