Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

Intake System Components:

1. Follow procedure for fuel injector replacement.
2. When injectors and fuel rail are removed, remove water outlet from manifold and remove manifold from engine.
3. Remove vacuum chamber.

Installing Manifold Nuts And Washers:

Manifold Torque Sequence:

4. Install in reverse order. Install intake manifold nuts and washers and tighten nuts to 14 - 19 ft. lbs (19 - 25 Nm) in the sequence as shown in images.

Manually Energizing Fuel Pump At Diagnostic Connector:

NOTE: When installation is complete, prime fuel rail and injectors by connecting a jumper wire between "GND" and "FP" terminals of diagnostic connector (see images). Turn ign "ON" for at least ten seconds to operate pump. Remove jumper wire.
