Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

SPEED SENSOR 1 (REVOLUTION SENSOR) REPLACEMENT
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the front exhaust pipe (left side).



3. Disconnect the speed sensor 1 connector.





4. Remove the speed sensor 1.
5. Apply ATF to a new 0-ring and install it on the speed sensor 1.
6. Install the new speed sensor 1.

Tightening torque: 4.9 - 6.9 N.m (50 - 7O cm-kg, 43 - 61 in-lb)

7. Connect the speed sensor 1 connector.
8. Install the front exhaust pipe.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.


SPEED SENSOR 2 REPLACEMENT
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the front exhaust pipe. (left side)



3. Disconnect the speed sensor 2 connector.





4. Remove the speed sensor 2 from the extension housing.
5. Apply ATF to a new 0-ring and install it on the speed sensor 2.
6. Install the new speed sensor 2.

Tightening torque: 4.9 - 6.9 N.m (50 - 7O cm-kg, 43 - 61 in-lb)

7. Connect the speed sensor 2 connector.
8. Install the front exhaust pipe.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.


PULSE GENERATOR REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the transmission assembly.





2. Remove the pulse generator from the transmission case.
3. Apply ATF to a new 0-ring and install it on the pulse generator.
4. Install the new pulse generator and new gasket.
5. Install new bolts and tighten.

Tightening torque: 4.9 - 6.9 N-m (50 - 70 cm-kg, 43 - 61 in-lb)

6. Install the transmission assembly.
