Neutral Safety Switch: Testing and Inspection

OPERATION
1. Turn ignition switch ON.
2. Shift selector lever and verify that selected range and range indicator in combination meter correspond.
3. Apply parking brake and position wheel chocks.
4. Verify that starter operates with ignition switch at START and selector lever in P and N ranges only.
5. Verify that back-up lights illuminate with shift lever in R range and ignition switch ON.
6. If not as specified, check switch continuity.

Park/Neutral Switch Testing:






CONTINUITY

1. Disconnect negative battery cable and switch connector.
2. Remove connector from bracket and check terminal continuity as shown on table:

3. If not as specified, adjust switch and check again.
