Removal/Installation

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove starter and transmission.
4. Drain engine oil and coolant.
5. Lower vehicle, then remove battery hold-down clamp and the battery.
6. Remove fresh-air duct, then engine undercover.
7. Remove upper and lower radiator hoses.
8. Remove cooling fan and radiator cowling.
9. On models with automatic transmission, remove oil cooler hose from radiator.
10. On all models, remove radiator.
11. Remove drive belts, then the airflow sensor connector.
12. Remove the air cleaner, then heater hoses.
13. Remove accelerator cable, then the brake vacuum.
14. Remove the vacuum hose to vacuum actuator.
15. Remove canister hose, then the fuel hoses.
16. Remove the alternator and alternator strap.
17. Remove power steering oil pump pulley, then power steering oil pump leaving hoses connected and position aside.
18. Remove A/C compressor leaving hoses connected and position aside.
19. Remove protector cover, then emission harness connectors and engine ground wire.
20. Remove upper shroud panel, A/C pipe bracket and exhaust pipe.
21. Remove lower section of the grille, then the radiator grille.
22. Remove shroud upper plate and condenser fan.
23. Remove left and right engine mount nuts.
24. Using a suitable lifting device, remove engine from vehicle.
25. Reverse procedure to install.
