Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2. Loosen clamp and remove air duct from airflow meter.
3. Disconnect electrical connector from airflow meter.

Air Flow Meter Mounting:

4. Remove mounting nuts from inside air filter housing and remove airflow meter from vehicle.
5. Clean all mating surfaces of dirt, gasket material, etc.

Air Flow Meter Gasket:

6. Install a new gasket, making sure that pins "A" fit into the holes "B." Install airflow meter to air filter housing. Torque to 5.8 - 8.0 ft.lb (8 - 11 Nm).

CAUTION: If nuts are not tightened properly, they may loosen and damage the engine.

7. Reconnect air duct and tighten clamp.
8. Reconnect electrical connector and negative battery terminal.
