Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation
The Atmospheric Pressure Sensor, located in the ECU, detects changes in barometric pressure corresponding to changes in altitude from sea level. These changes are converted to an electrical signal and utilized by the ECU primarily in its calculations of these outputs:^ Fuel injection quantity
^ Idle speed
^ Igniter (timing control)
^ Purge control solenoid valve
