EGR Valve Position Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Detects EGR valve lift and signals the ECU.

LOCATION
Top of EGR valve.

OPERATION
Sensor is a variable resistor. The signal is used by the ECU to regulate EGR system operation through control of EGR vent and vacuum solenoid valves. The signal is also influences electronic spark timing control.
