Connecting Rod: Testing and Inspection

1. Check connecting rods for bending or twists. Replace connecting rod(s) if bends or twists are excessive.
2. Measure connecting rod small end bore diameter. Diameter should be 0.9033 - 0.9039 inch.
3. Determine interference between small end bore and corresponding piston pin. Interference should be 0.0006 - 0.0014 inch.
4. If connecting rod is to be replaced, rod cap, bolts and nuts must also be replaced as a set.
