Brake Signal: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Switch signals the ECU in addition to illuminating the brake lights.

LOCATION
Beneath dash at brake pedal assembly.

OPERATION
When the service brake is applied, the switch signals the ECU in addition to illuminating the brake lights. The ECU reads this signal as a deceleration indicator and uses it to regulate fuel injection quantity during this operating phase.
