EGR Valve Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

OUTPUT VOLTAGE INSPECTION

EGR Function Sensor Testing:

1. Unplug PCME connector. Hook up SST as shown, and a vacuum pump.
2. Turn ignition ON (engine OFF).
3. Measure voltage at terminals as shown on image table.
4. If not correct at 2J terminal, check wiring harness and 2I terminals of PCME.

RESISTANCE

EGR Function Sensor Testing:

1. Unplug function sensor connector and connect an ohmmeter.
2. Hook up vacuum pump to sensor.
3. With vacuum applied, measure resistance as shown on image table.
