Exhaust Gas Recirculation: Testing and Inspection

EGR System Operation:

1. Connect SST (or equivalent equipment) as shown.
2. Start engine. Accelerate engine and verify PCME terminals 3O and 3P read battery voltage while engine is still cold.
3. Warm engine to operating temperture.
4. Accelerate engine and verify Engine Signal Monitor (SST #49 9200 162) green and red lights flash when SST is set to 3O and 3P.
5. Ground PCME terminal 3P with jumper wire. Engine should run rough or stall at idle.
