Ignition Coil: Testing and Inspection

PRIMARY COIL WINDING INSPECTION

Primary Coil Winding Check:

1. Unplug coil 3-pin connector.
2. Check resistance for specification of 0.58 - 0.86 ohms.
3. If not within specification, replace distributor.

SECONDARY COIL WINDING INSPECTION

Secondary Coil Winding Check:

1. Remove distributor cap.
2. Check that resistance is 11.5 - 18.5K ohms.
3. If not within specification, replace distributor.
